The essential oil does not always have an identical appearance because its consistency is determined by the amount of water in the flowers which makes the oil more or less opaque. This absolutely does not compromise its quality, on the contrary it confirms its naturalness and craftsmanship. The properties and the scent always remain unchanged.

Different uses of lavender essential oil Essential oil is an extremely concentrated volatile product, so it should be used sparingly, one or two drops are enough to obtain the desired effect. It can be used in an oil diffuser, directly on the fabric and also on the skin, but only if you do not have delicate skin, otherwise it is better to use a carrier oil to dilute the essential oil. Properties of lavender essential oil This oil has countless properties, including excellent calming properties, against stress and insomnia, against insect bites; it is used in cosmetics for its soothing and antibacterial properties, but obviously also for its perfume.
This hydrolate is produced in a very artisanal way, so it still contains some essential oil, for this reason it is particularly fragrant, but it is not to be used as a perfume; essential oil is a volatile product and therefore is easily dispersed in the air. Hydrolate, if sprayed on the fabric, remains there for a short time, but long enough if, for example, it is used on the pillow before going to bed. It is an excellent facial tonic and can also be used as a make-up remover. I also use it once a week to clean my dogs' fur; it makes the coat shiny and removes unpleasant odours without harming the animal. I also use it in automatic soap dispensers, in fact instead of mixing liquid soap with water, I mix it with hydrolate. These are just some examples of use, but this product is very versatile.
Available in various formats, from 10 to 250 ml, but also in higher volumes on request.
My plants I have been producing essential oil and lavender hydrolate for several years. I started with a simple alembic when I only had a few plants, but now I have a lavender field and I therefore use a much larger copper distiller. Every year I plant about a hundred plants of Lavendula angustifolia; I chose to start with forest alveoli to facilitate the rooting of the roots, as I am in a very dry place, where it rains very little in summer. chosen to grow lavender for this reason, because it does not have great water needs. I think that water must be considered as a precious asset and the crops should be chosen based on the climate, morphology and water capacity of the planting site.
The extraction of essential oil and hydrolat Lavender blooms between June and August, in these months I collect its flowers, but the extraction of the oil and hydrolat takes many months, but it is a very pleasant and fragrant job! In addition, the distiller is located in a room outside the house which has a splendid view of the hills. This is the old chest-nut drying room that my parents rebuilt in stone.
The copper distiller consists of 4 parts: the tank for lavender and water, the "hat" with its thermometer, the coil and the vessel for cooling and consequent condensation of the steam. The distiller is placed on a large gas stove. The cistern is filled with lavender flowers and water and closed with the "hat". The water temperature must remain around 90 ° C, the vapour that forms passes through the coil which is immersed in the water. The vapour, condensing, escapes in the form of oil and hydrolat. This process takes several hours and a constant change of cooling water. The essential oil and water have different weights and therefore separate naturally, I then withdraw the essential oil by aspiration using a syringe. This homemade method makes the hydrosol particularly fragrant because it still contains essential oil.
