This is my corner of paradise: a property of 12 hectares, between woods, olive groves, chestnut groves and fields, located in Mugello, just 35 km from Florence. Initially called S. Gaudenzio Abate, Church in Varena was born as a church around 1200 AD, it was destroyed in 1367, following internal struggles of the Florentine Republic, and used as a home by the local peasants who lived there until around 1960. A few years later, my parents, still engaged, bought the farm without water and even road, electricity had been roughly installed the previous year. With patience, sacrifices and love, my parents transformed an abandoned and uncultivated place into a welcoming and smiling corner of paradise. In 2018 my parents entrusted me with the farm where I moved in September 2019. I feel like the gardener of a piece of heaven, and as such, should be treated with respect, love and admiration. This is how I try to deal with it, supporting nature without ever forcing it; it is a collaboration that fills me with joy and serenity, which I would like to pass on to those who come or those who buy the products of Chiesa in Varena. Welcome to a corner of paradise! Anna
